NORTH EAST – BIRDING & WILDLIFE TOUR 
(10 DAYS / 9 NIGHTS )

Ornithology stems from the Greek word “ornithos” which means bird and “logos” which means knowledge. It has a long history and its study has helped evolve several key concepts in evolution, behaviour and ecology. Our Birding and Wildlife of North East India tour package delves into the virgin Mishmi Hills of Eastern Arunachal Pradesh, traverses through Dibrugarh, Dibru Saikhowa National Park and Kaziranga National Park. It aims at providing our valuable travellers with a varied experience and also an insight into the various bird species that can be found in the region. You can expect to spot some rare birds like the Sclater’s Monal and the Lesser White Fronted Goose.

Day 01 : Guwahati-Nameri, Assam

Guwahati is our first destination in this tour. After reaching Guwahati airport, our first stop is Nameri National Park. It’s located at 220 KM distance from Guwahati. This is a 5 hours journey through the beautiful nature of Assam. We will spend coming 2 beautiful nights at the tented accommodation of Nameri Eco Camp.

We will do our Bird watching adventure while trekking inside the Reserve or while rafting down the Jia Bhorali river. But unfortunately we will not get the opportunity of having the adventure of elephant or jeep safari at Nameri National Park as these facilities are available there.

The park remains open from 1st Nov to 30th April only.

Day 02 : Birding/jungle walk at Nameri National Park, Assam 

We will enjoy the full day at birdwatch & jungle walk at Nameri National Park and spend the night at the exciting Eco-Camp.

Day 03 : Jeep Safari at Kaziranga National Park, Assam 

After breakfast we’ll drive to our next station in this Assam tour: Kaziranga. This is a 115 Kms journey by road which will take approximately 3 hours. Kaziranga will be our home for 3 nights. In the afternoon we will go for a jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park. We will spend the night at the Hotel.

Timing of Jeep Safari at Kaziranga National Park:

Forenoon: Entry time between 07:00 to 09:30 Hours. Visiting time till 12:00 Noon
Afternoon: Entry time between 13:30 to 15:00 Hours. Visiting time till sunset.

Kaziranga National Park remains open from 1st Nov to 30th April only.

Day 04 : Jeep & Elephant Safari at Kaziranga National Park, Assam 

A thrilling elephant safari for exploring the bird & wildlilfe is waiting for you in the early morning followed by an adventurous jeep safari after the breakfast. At afternoon we will go for another jeep safari.

Day 05 : Jeep Safari at Kaziranga National Park, Assam 

Another exciting day at Kaziranga with 2 jeep safaris at morning and afternoon to explore the birdlife and Wildlife of Assam.

Day 06 : Jeep Safari at Kaziranga & Going to Jorhat, Assam 

This our last day at Kaziranga in this NE India Birdwatching & Wildlife tour package. Post breakfast we will go for another jeep safari. Later in the afternoon we will start for Jorhat. The distance between Kaziranga and Jorhat is 80 kms by road. The journey should take around 2 hours approximately. We will stay the night at Jorhat at prebooked hotel.

Day 07 : Jorhat-Visit Gibbon WLS-Drive to Dibrugarh, Assam 

We will start our day with an early morning visit to Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary to see the diversity of wildlife available there. Here at Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary you will get hoolock gibbons for which this sanctuary was built. Apart from them, you will also find capped langur, stump-tailed macaque, pigtail macaque, Assamese macaque, rhesus macaque and slow loris.

Later in the afternoon we will give Jorhat a goodbye and drive to Dibrugarh and check in at Mancotta or Chowkidinghee Heritage Chang Bungalow.

Day 08 : Dibrugarh-Jokai-Tinsukia, Assam 

Today early morning we drive to Jokai Reserve Forest. It’a small broadleaf forest minutes away from Dibrugarh town. You’ll find numbers of low altitude tropical species present here like the Small Niltava, Little Pied Flycatcher, Black-winged and Large Cuckoo-shrikes, flock of Pompadour Green Pigeons, Jay-walking Emerald Dove, Red headed Trogon, Crimson Sunbird, Ruby Cheeked Sunbird, Scarlet Backed Flowerpecker, Black breasted Thrush etc. During spring rare cuckoos (like the asian emerald cuckoo) and flycatchers can be seen here which are on of the main attractions here.

Later in the afternoon we’ll start for Tinsukia, our next destination in this Assam birding & wildlife tour package and check in at Wathai Heritage Bungalow, Limbuguri Tea Estate for 02 nights.

Day 09 : Dibru-Saikhowa National Park, Assam 

Early morning we visit Dibru-Saikhowa National Park and Magori Bheel. We will take several boat rides on the Dibru River, go for jungle walk, bird and Gangetic Dolphin sighting. Night staying at the Bungalow.

Day 10 : Tinsukia-Dibrugarh Fly out 

Today is our last day of our tour. We will start for Dibrugarh airport to board flight for onward destination. Have a safe journey.
